About
I have been working as a GI actuary for the last 30 years, spanning personal lines, London Market, reinsurers and captives, both in the UK and overseas. I started working for General Accident in Hong Kong but have spent most of my time as a consultant in London; first with Willis Towers Watson, and then with LCP.
I have a long history of activity in the IFoA (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) and was awarded the GI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. I chair the Machine Learning in Reserving working party and am on the AIDSET (AI, Data Science and Emerging Technologies) Board. I was on the GI board from 2016 to 2026 and chair of the GI Reserving Oversight Committee up until 2019. I have spoken and written widely on the subjects of reserving, uncertainty and PPOs.
